Paceco stands at 36m asl in the province of Trapani. It totals about 12,000 inhabitants. Founded in 1607 by the Marquis Placido Fardella, it counts today about 12,000 inhabitants.

The city is laid out on an orthogonal grid with square blocks. The 1600’s Chiesa Madre dedicated to the Holy Crucifix is its most attractive building. Its fertile surroundings are cultivated with with vines, olive and fruit trees. The Birgi river, in ancient times called Acithius, today giving its name to the close airport, flows past some interesting naturalistic sites.
